Gulf Coast State College Student Email System
GCSC student email is about to go through an upgrade.
What does this mean?
- Microsoft implemented a new version of my.gulfcoast.edu and all email accounts must be migrated to the new version over the next several months.
- All of the features currently available in student email will still be available after the move.
- The look and feel of the new my.gulfcoast.edu is the same as Microsoft Outlook’s Web mail.
- The migration process will be mostly invisible to our students.
- Student mail box migration will take place over several weeks.
- Logon Ids and Passwords will stay the same on the new my.gulfcoast.edu.
The process involves four steps:
- Step one is to create new student mailboxes on the new my.gulfcoast.edu system.
- Step two is to copy all data from the current student email system to the new system.
- In Step three, all mail will be diverted to the new my.gulfcoast.edu mailboxes and students will be redirected to the new system. At this point in the process students will be asked to logon to their current and new mailboxes, links will be provided to both to verify that all of their data was moved and to copy over any distribution lists and calendar entries they may have.
- Step four is to delete the old my.gulfcoast.edu mailboxes.
Students will have access to their my.gulfcoast.edu accounts throughout the entire migration process. As stated earlier, students will be notified after step three to verify that all of their mailbox content has been moved to the new my.gulfcoast.edu mailbox. Instructions will be provided to for moving calendar and distribution list information.

All currently enrolled students at Gulf Coast State College have a student email account through the college's email system, which is provided by GCSC in association with Microsoft. New students will be provided an email account the day after their admissions application is processed. This is the official form of communication at GCSC. Please remember to check your email periodically to receive important information. If you need assistance activating your email account, please watch these two brief videos:
>> Step-by-Step Training for Student E-mail (Part I)
>> Step-by-Step Training for Student E-mail (Part II)
There are two ways to find out your email address. One way is to log in to the OASIS Student Registration system.
Option 1: OASIS
To log in to OASIS, you will need your social security number or student identification number and student pin number. For new students or students who do not have an established pin number, you will use your default pin number of month/year of birth (MMYY, where YY is the last two digits of your birth year). The system will prompt you to change your default pin number to your own selected 4-digit pin number. Within OASIS, you will find your student email account name.
Option 2: ANGEL
New Angel accounts have your student email address already entered into it. To see your email address in Angel, first, visit the Angel web page. Click the "Preferences" icon on the left side of the screen (a wrench icon), and click "Personal Information". Your student email account will be listed on that page.
Your student email account name is automatically created by the college using your initials and a computer generated account number to guarantee uniqueness.
Example: JJS1002@my.gulfcoast.edu. If you do not have (or did not register at GCSC with) a middle initial, it will be replaced with an _ (underscore) character.
Logging in to student email
To access your student email account, browse to: http://outlook.com/my.gulfcoast.edu. Enter your student email account name in the field labeled Windows Live ID. Your default password is your date of birth in the form of (YYYYMMDD).

Your new email account comes with: 2 GB storage in your mailbox, a 10 MB attachment limit, Spam filtering, virus protection features, and attachment scanning.
To begin your student email account set up, go to: http://outlook.com/my.gulfcoast.edu and log in. See the training instructions to the right side of this page for further information on how to set up and use your account.
